Demano

Founded in 1999, Demano is a unique design project run in co-operation with Barcelona’s city council, to recycle PVC posters into funky fashion accessories. Barcelona is famous for its colourful posters which advertise exhibitions, festivals and events around the city, but previous to Demano’s brainwave these highly toxic banners were buried underground and left to pollute the environment over thousands of years.

Today Demano’s team of talented designers recycle this durable, waterproof PVC into some of the city’s sexiest bags, wallets and even wellington boots. The project’s workshop/office is found in Poblenou, however they have a portable shop-kiosk which turns up around the city (currently found on Born) or you can browse online, where you can even customise your bag by choosing your own banner. A perfect way to take a real piece of Barcelona home with you.
