Dinamo Barcelona
Chic school in the barrio of Born
If the thought of learning Spanish in a drab classroom environment is putting you off signing up for some clases de español, then you’ve just run out of excuses. Dinamo Barcelona looks more like a chic cafe than a centre of learning, with minimalist stylings, bare brick walls, red leather upholstered seats, hanging lights and vintage chalk black boards.
The academy is located just two minutes walk away from Arc de Triomf in the Bohemian Borne district, and they offer Spanish classes at all levels in group sizes of no more than 12 people. As the name suggests, the classes are very dynamic with an emphasis on conversation and getting students speaking the language as soon as possible.
The prices are some of the best in Barcelona and what’s more, unlike most other language schools, they don’t charge any registration fee for books and materials. And, if you’re looking for private one-on-one tuition, they can also help you out.
In terms of student activities, they have teamed up with some local hiking and wine partners to offer discounts to anyone keen to explore some of the culture around Barcelona and Catalonia. While they have also forged a useful partnership with a company that fast tracks the application process to get the NIE (national identity number for foreign nationals living in Spain) for those that plan on living and working in Barcelona for an extended period.
Already speak Spanish? Dinamo also organise English classes for locals looking to brush up on their international communication skills.
