Flax & Kale
A 'flexitarian' approach to healthy living
The flagship branch of the Flax & Kale brand, by healthy food advocate Teresa Carles, the approach behind the menu of this restaurant is “flexitarian”, meaning that it’s mostly vegetarian (80%) but with a few fish options (20%) for those searching for their daily intake of omega oils.
They serve breakfasts, weekend brunches, lunches, and dinners, all of which are made from principally plant-based ingredients and their philosophy, top to bottom, is to provide their customers with the food they need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The restaurant takes up a corner on the charismatic Carrer Tallers, near Placa Universitat, and is filled with booths covered in granny-chic fabrics, large communal tables and huge glass windows, making it the perfect hipster haunt.

We had a late dinner here and it was hard to decide what not to order... everything looked great. We settled on red curry rice, kale and leek soup, umami almonds (would love the recipe!) and a raw food platter. Everything was fantastically yummy. Highly recommend.5 years ago

Loved our Avo toasts with eggs. Large range of Kombucha drinks and healthy juices. Everything so fresh! Wish we had this restaurant in Australia.5 years ago
