Ocaña

Ocaña is right in the heart of Placa Reial, one of the most bustling squares in all of Barcelona. This place is a little bit of everything – it’s a cafe, a restaurant, a cocktail bar and a club all at once. It captures the spirit of the square’s origins from the 1850s, with a modern roguish twist all of its own.

The design pieces here have been collected from all over Europe, from chandeliers found by the owner at a Parisian flea market to the ornate wooden panels on the cocktail bar that were rescued from a pharmacy in the Basque Country.

During summer a space on their terrace is hard to come by, whilst you’ll want to get inside before midnight to avoid the queues during the weekend, if you want to shake your derriere with the other pretty young things on the dancefloor. (Bear in mind that Ocaña closes at 2:30am).

Not the cheapest joint in the Old Town, but definitely one of the most stylish.
