Petit Tapas

Convivial tapas bar with great wines

When you step into this charming tapas restaurant in the Gothic Quarter, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d walked into a wine cellar, with its barebrick walls, wooden beams and shelves heaving under the weight of Spanish wine references – amongst which you’ll find vintages from the nearby Penedes and Priorat regions, as well as several organic wines.

Petit Tapas, as the name suggests, specialises in tapas and ‘platillos’ (small plates) for sharing, and you’ll find a fun mix of classic (stewed meat croquettes), vegetarian (grilled cauliflower with Romesco sauce), ecological (kilometre zero Catalan cheeses) and fusion tapas (Thai style Monkfish souffle with coconut curry sauce) on the menu.

The atmosphere is very convivial and relaxed and if you don’t manage to reserve a table in time, you can even just eat casually at the bar and ask one of their bartenders to rustle you up a cocktail, like their passion fruit mojito.

Fantastic staff looking after you so well, and a combination of traditional and new takes on tapas plates, make for a very nice relaxed meal. Top quality food and a good selection of drinks. Recommended. Remember to make a reservation or you have zero chance of a table, for good reason.
