Sensi Tapas
Eat, drink and live!
Sensi Tapas first opened its doors in 2006, and its tables are some of the most sought-after anywhere in Barcelona.
Their motto is come, bebe, la vida es breve (“eat, drink, life is short!”), and this charming locale in the Gothic Quarter is certainly a place where people live well.
A menu of classic Spanish tapas, such as padron peppers and patatas bravas (both made from ecologically-sourced local ingredients) are complemented by more daring options: like oxtail croquettes with red alioli; baked octopus with smoked aubergine sauce, candied shallot and roasted peppers; and their version of a Mallorquín paella with sobrasada and honey alioli. As well as Spanish and Mediterranean influences, you can find an Asian touch on the menu – their Thai-style sauted rock mussels come in coconut milk with green curry.
The wine list is also excellent, and includes wines by La Mundial Barcelona, a local brand acquired by the Sensi group, which produces handcrafted wines made from 100% naturally grown grapes from the Penedès region.
Given the restaurant’s popularity, it’s best to reserve ahead of time via their website (see links on the right).
