The Old Irish Pub
Live music, sports and nightlife on Las Ramblas
The Old Irish Pub is part of a chain of 40 popular bars in North Europe, and has quickly become a regular fixture of Barcelona’s nightlife scene. A hat-tipping leprechaun stands on Las Ramblas, astride a pot of gold, leaving you in no doubt what’s in store: and that’s everything you would expect from a great Irish pub, such as live music, live sports and a great range of beers and drinks.
The live music kicks off at 8pm every night, while throughout the day you can enjoy the familiar sounds of 80s and 90s music, and great party tunes continuing until 3am.
The live sports are screened on 11 TVs and a large projector, meaning you never have to a miss a minute of action from the Premier League, La Liga and the Champions League.
To keep the whistle wet, there’s Heineken (just €3.50 a half litre until 8pm!), Paulaner, Hop House, Lagunitas, Strongbow and, of course, Guinness on tap, while rumbling stomachs can feast on the likes of fish’n’chips, nachos and wings.
Overall, the atmosphere at the Old Irish Pub is a welcoming, international one, where everyone is free to pop by for a pint and mingle with other friendly folk. People tend to stay late, making this a very popular party spot, but if you prefer sunshine to late nights, then you can make yourself comfortable on their outdoor terrace on Las Ramblas, and enjoy watching the world go by with a cold beer or refreshing cocktail.
