Torre Bellesguard
Gaudi-designed manor house
“Torre Bellesguard” translates to “Tower with a beautiful view” – and there is indeed a very nice vista to be had from this manor house designed by Gaudi.
Located on a steep street in the posh Sarria-Sant Gervasi district, it’s a bit of a trek to get up here, but you’ll also encounter far less tourists as a result. The house was inspired by the medieval castle that used to sit on the grounds here.
The original family that owned it wanted to make it into a hospital, and for a few decades did just that. But for the last 30 or so years, it’s been a private home. Visitors can see the house with a guided tour, and there are concerts held in the gardens in the summer.
Opening Hours
The house is open Tuesday to Sunday: 10am – 3pm (last entry at 2.30pm)
It is closed on Mondays and the 25th & 26th December, and 1st and 6th January.
