Ziryab
Arabic fusion tapas paired with crisp Lebanese wines
Riding a current trend in Barcelona, that of serving foreign cuisine in tapas style bites, Ziryab has already proved to be a very popular with the adventurous taste buds of the travel community.
Flavours from the Middle Eastern world have been fused together with those from Catalonia and Spain and the restaurant’s menu consists of delights like bacon-wrapped dates and grilled halloumi (Arab cheese) with Spanish serrano ham. Finger lickin’ good! Meanwhile their range of dips are surely the best west of Baghdad, from the minty hummus to the spicy muhamarra.
Finally there’s a wine list the likes of which you won’t find elsewhere in Barcelona, with choice Lebanese wines complementing a selection from Catalonia’s Penedes region. If you’re picking holes then you could say that Ziryab can feel a little cramped when full and the service is a trifle slow… but it’s hard to blame the restaurant itself for becoming popular.
